2022 INFINITI QX60 Towing Capacity Guide

November 10th, 2021 by

INFINITI’s 2022 QX60 is a great SUV for drivers who plan on doing a lot of towing. This luxury vehicle also boasts a roomy cabin with plenty of cargo storage options. Our auto experts here at Herrin-Gear INFINITI have put together some information for you about the QX60’s towing capacity and other specs.

What Is the 2022 INFINITI QX60 Towing Capacity?

The big news for 2022 is that the INFINITI QX60’s towing capacity has been increased to an impressive 6,000 pounds. That’s a significant boost compared to the previous towing limit of 5,000 pounds available on QX60 models from 2021 and earlier.

INFINITI really put the new QX60 through several grueling tests to make sure its towing capacity can cope with real-world conditions. From the blistering heat of Arizona to off-roading terrain in Utah, the QX60 proved that it has what it takes to cope with heavy loads in all sorts of weather conditions.

Several important features on the new QX60 help ensure it can handle heavier loads at the rear. An improved transmission oil cooler keeps your power train at a safe temperature even when it’s working hard to pull your camper or boat. The integrated hitch receiver and trailer stability programming make the process of hooking up to a trailer and keeping your cargo secure on the road that bit easier.

2022 QX60 Engine and Performance

A major reason for the QX60’s improved towing ability is to be found under the hood. Its 3.5-liter V-6 engine is paired with an automatic nine-speed transmission. The engine churns out 295 horsepower. The nine-speed automatic replaces the continuously variable transmission that was featured in earlier model years.

The QX60 comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available as an optional add-on. All-wheel drive will give you extra stability and control if you plan on towing over rough ground or in difficult weather conditions.

QX60 Interior

Step inside the QX60 and you’ll find plenty of cabin space for cargo and passengers alike. Behind the third row of seats, you have 16 cubic feet of cargo-carrying capacity. So if you’re planning a vacation with your camper in tow, you will have enough space in the rear of the cabin to fit several bags or suitcases.

If you need some more space for cargo in the cabin and you don’t mind losing a few seats, you can fold down the third row to open up 40 cubic feet of storage. With the two rear rows down, you can open up around 76 cubic feet of storage capacity.

The QX60 has seating for up to seven with synthetic leather upholstery in the base setup. There’s a lot of legroom in the first two rows. The third row is ideal for kids or adults for a short journey. You’ll find two sets of LATCH connectors in the second row for installing child seats, and two tether anchors in the third row.

The QX60’s cabin also features a suite of infotainment technology to keep everyone entertained. The InTouch infotainment system is accessible through an 8-inch screen, which is paired with a six-speaker stereo in the base setup. You also get eight USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and satellite radio as standard.

Some attractive infotainment upgrades are on offer too. Check out the rear-seat infotainment system if you want to let second-row passengers have more choice on the road. The system includes two 8-inch screens fitted into the back of the front seats. You can also opt for a premium stereo with 13 or 15 speakers, and a navigation system to keep you on the right track.

QX60 Trims

The 2022 INFINITI QX60 is available in two trims: Pure and Luxe. The Pure’s cabin features a leather-wrapped steering wheel and synthetic leather upholstery. Front-seat passengers can look forward to power adjustable seats, which are also heated. Other convenient features include proximity keyless entry and push-button start. Wen you sit behind the wheel, you’ll be assisted by several useful driver safety features, including pre-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and a rearview camera.

The Luxe trim adds a heated steering wheel and a remote start feature. You also get the 13-speaker premium stereo. For additional luxury and functionality, you should check out the various packages offered with the Luxe trim. For instance, the Essential package adds genuine leather upholstery, the navigation system, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. You’ll also benefit from a surround-view parking camera, which provides an aerial view of your QX60 on your infotainment screen so that you can easily maneuver in and out of tight parking spots.

The ProAssist package equips your luxury SUV with several additional safety features, such as rear emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist. The Theater package is the one to go for if you want the rear-seat infotainment system. Finally, to go all out and get just about every possible feature available in the QX60, try the Sensory package. It adds a moonroof in the second and third rows, the 15-speaker stereo, and a hands-free liftgate. Larger alloy wheels, ventilated front seats, and heated outward second-row seats are included too.
